Thank you for your Christmas generosity! Because of your support, sponsorship families experienced a season marked by relief and genuine joy. In November, a new child sponsorship office opened in a rural area west of Addis Ababa. The children received treats along with pencils and crayons–many for the first time–and eagerly created their very first drawings. In Addis, the team distributed food and hygiene items and held a special day of spiritual encouragement for the children.
The week before Christmas was busy! Monday through Wednesday, the team gave each child a full outfit. Thursday through Friday, they distributed teff (grain) and food oil. Parents shared their deep gratitude and relief to have food on the table for the holiday. The children thoroughly enjoyed Christmas programs with Bible stories, songs, dances, games, and treats at two local churches. Their parents were deeply moved to see their children celebrate so freely and joyfully within the wider church community. The parents also celebrated in their self-help groups, and the staff exchanged gifts at the office.
At the new office, the children received schoolbooks, food, and clothing for Christmas. Parents said that this season had been difficult and they were grateful they would be able to celebrate as a family. They prayed God would bless the sponsors who made it possible, just as their own prayers had been answered. Some children hugged their new clothes tightly, admiring the colors and style. Others couldn’t wait to get home and put them on immediately. Above all, families felt remembered and loved at a time when they often fear being forgotten. Thanks to you this Christmas was celebrated not only with food on the table and new clothes to wear but with renewed confidence, belonging, and joy!
