This quarter, we distributed flour to the families in the sponsorship program. The parents shared that it would allow them to prepare breakfast, dinner, and after-school snacks. Their joy was evident as many families said, “God is blessing and answering our prayers through you. Please pass our gratitude to our sponsors. We are very thankful.”

Home visits, self-help groups, and Sunday school continued. Our Self-Help Group officer Helen invited her teenage group to a special meal she prepared for them where they enjoyed cake, laughter, and good conversation. Tsige, Fikadu’s wife invited her self-help group to her home to make genfo, an Ethiopian porridge that is one of their favorite foods. Tsige’s home has become a safe and joyful place for many, and the group members say they feel her home is their own.

Another highlight was the three-day sports festival coordinated with a local church. Several of the sponsored children participated in the event which included games, refreshments, and time to reflect on life lessons.
