I want to say thank you so much. God used you to change my life and those of my father and my mother.
When I was 4 years old, my mom and dad were very poor. They were not able to send me to school because they didn’t have the $10 to pay for the school fee, supplies, and clothes.
Some days, we did not have food in our house. My father worked three days a week and only received $15 to cover our family expenses. Desperate, he contacted the sponsorship program, and they introduced me to you. I thank God who connected me to you.
Over time, I became an active Sunday school student and decided to get baptized. For four years, I’ve been in a weekly discipleship class and on a dance team at church. Last year, I was elected as a youth leader too. I love Jesus and my church friends very much.
Before sponsorship, my father and mother not only struggled economically, but they did not live a good life and had a lot of conflict with each other and people in the community. When they joined a self-help savings group (SHG), it changed their life. They became active church members and started caring about others. As a result, the church hired my parents to work for them. My father is an SHG leader and helps with home visits and distributions. He loves being a part of the sponsorship program.
I am now 17 and will graduate from high school in 2 years. My plan is to become a lawyer to support myself, my family, and others who are very poor like I was.
